Mid 2020 we decided to relocate to Christchurch and after researching properties for sale on line via the usual channels we set off to Christchurch to check out if our short list of properties did in fact satisfy our requirements.
One property that we were attracted to was a development by Home Trends Builders Ltd. However, before we departed for Christchurch we received confirmation that the property had been sold. Peter de Gouw of HTB suggested that as we planned to be in Christchurch he would show us that property to get a feel of the ambience and then visit a new development underway in Merivale.
From the moment that we stepped into HTB’s office and met with Peter, Elaine and Lonnae we both had a good feeling about HTB. We were presented with detailed plans and specifications and pricing of the Merivale development. Over coffee Peter took time to walk us through the plans and address our many questions. Prior to a site visit that confirmed that HTB was a professional organization.
We elected to proceed to purchase “off the plan” a townhouse in the Merivale development. The contract and agreed specifications were fully documented, variation requests were handled promptly and the build completed on time. Through the process Peter’s excellent communication made for a positive experience.
Final inspection confirmed we had purchased a quality build with attention to detail and finish by the professional HTB team.

As expats we searched throughout NZ for a new home that would meet our exacting specifications. The Mews development on Mandeville Street was a chance meeting. The location and size was right. I wanted my own space with intelligent layout and functionality for my life style and the clincher was that while I “bought off the plan” I could have input into the finished product through the build process.

I am delighted to write a testimonial for Home Trends Builders Ltd who (in conjunction with our Insurance Coy) were chosen to undertake the repairs at our home in Dallington.
When approval to proceed was given – the value exceeding over $250,000 – a significant amount of work was needed to repair our home including the repair of our foundations – this necessitating the complete removal of all furniture and flooring and fittings from our house.
The Project Manager was in regular communication with us in regards to the work being undertaken and its progress, discussing any issues and requesting information from us on matters such as colours for painting, decking and so on.
More importantly, I have been very impressed with the Company’s reliability and the quality of work that has been undertaken by the staff of Home Trends Builders Ltd. The tradesmen who were contracted to do work such as painting, electrical and the like also produced work of very good quality.

Let me begin by saying that Home Trends Builders Ltd did a fabulous job on our Fletchers/EQR repairs. Apart from redecorating the entire downstairs, Home Trends Builders Ltd needed to re-level a kitchen floor and address cracked exterior Summerhill stone cladding.
Before the repairs took place, they developed a project plan for us, using the EQR scope of works and our own commitments to finalise a date for completion of all the work. The project management was brilliant!. Although surprises did occur (as they always do with any building project) Home Trends Builders Ltd were able to quickly adjust their plan, bring in skilled staff as required: fast, efficient, responsive, flexible, quality and cost conscious.
Now that the EQR repairs are done, I would not hesitate to contact them again for future redecoration or building work. Truly, a first-rate company.”
